Steve Summerell, Regional
Coordinator for CFDM San Gabriel, is a life-long resident of the San
Gabriel valley. He has been married to his wife, Carol, for nearly 35
years, and they have two grown sons. Steve has been a Vineyard pastor
for 20 years and is currently co-pastor at the Live Oak Vineyard in
Arcadia. For 10 years, Steve served in the Vineyard as an Area Pastoral
Coordinator, giving oversight to a number of churches in the Southern
California area. He is currently overseeing the area of spiritual
formation for Vineyard churches in the Western region of the United
States.
Steve earned his Doctor of Ministry
degree from Azusa Pacific University, with an emphasis in spiritual
formation, as well as a Master of Divinity from Talbot School of
Theology. He has also completed the two-year
Certificate Program in Christian Formation
and Spiritual Direction from CFDM.
Steve provides spiritual direction, is
learning to supervise
directors in training, and is in direction
and supervision for his own growth and practice. He is a member of the
faculty team presenting the Certificate Program in Christian Formation
and Spiritual Direction in Southern California.
Steve loves being with his family, playing golf, hiking,
movies, sushi, and Mexican food.

Training programs
CFDM offers a
Certificate Program
in
Christian Formation and Spiritual Direction in San
Gabriel and/or other locations in Southern California beginning in
Jan/Feb of each year. For current information regarding dates, fees, and
application process, contact the Regional Coordinator.
Spiritual Direction
The San Gabriel Regional Network of CFDM is
composed of men and women who want to be part of the Network and who are
already Directors or are in training to be Directors.
Centered in the San Gabriel Valley of Los
Angeles County, it has links and contacts with other Regional Networks
of CFDM in Southern California. The Network is working with graduates
of the Certificate Program in Christian Formation & Spiritual Direction
offered by CFDM, as well as graduates of other training programs, to
provide ongoing supervision, evaluation, referral, and continuing
partnership for spiritual directors.

the network, or referral to a qualified Director, contact the Regional
Coordinator.
Local Events
Various events are planned and resources made
available by the Network in response to requests and needs in the
region. For additional information regarding Quiet Days [3rd Saturday of
each month], Taize Services [1st Friday evening of each month],
Spiritual Formation Events and weekend retreats, contact the Regional
Coordinator.
Retreat Centers
CFDM is committed to locating, networking,
and establishing retreat centers and locations in this region (homes,
cabins, established retreat centers) where people can go for rest,
solitude, prayer, self-guided retreats, and Christ-centered spiritual
direction. For current listings contact the Regional Coordinator.
